Memorial Day Weekend ~ Remembering Our Heroes

I want to take a moment from here at My Petite Maison to wish you and yours a very safe & sound Memorial Day weekend.

We will pause & reflect over the weekend, thinking of those that gave the gift of freedom to us.  The gift of going about our days in peace.

A very quick post from My Petite Maison today...

We're off for a busy weekend starting Friday.  I will have something really special to share with you next week.  

We're hoping to attend this weekend's Chateau Sonoma French Flea Market event and meet up with many talented friends that import wares directly from the French Countryside.  

This is a very busy time of year for us, as there are many French themed antique and flea markets near & where we live.  Although I have many, many items that haven't been added to My Petite Maison's boutique, I am hoping to add some extraordinary items to our collection over the next few weeks and over the beautiful summer.  It's busy, busy, take advantage of all the good shopping time once again here!

Weekend Plans My Petite Maison ~ Romantic Prairie Style Magazine (Premiere Issue)

A note from My Petite Maison for this special weekend...

Flowers cut from our garden

Love that the roses are cut from our own garden from rose trees and bushes that are meaningful for us here at home.  The roses above are cut from:  Princess Diana, Diamond Jubilee tea rose, Julia Child rose,  Her Highness rose. 


Many years ago, my step-father gave me $50 as one of my birthday gifts. As always, I love to purchase gifts that I'll remember the gift was purchased with a free for my heart's content gift by that person.  I love to keep track to remember... it doesn't happen much any more since most of my older relatives have passed on, but it is a wonderful comforting gift to me as I get older to remember these special gifts, free for the heart's content from my loved family.

To get back to my very long story... my $50. was used to purchase a Princess Diana rose bush.  This rose bush moved with us from our home 12 miles away to our current loved home over 8 years ago.  I can't tell you how much I love it.

Each rose bush mentioned above was a free for the heart's content gift.  Love them all and so sweet for the soul.

Back to business here, or actually non-business for the weekend, so to speak.  We're taking a long weekend to celebrate family, friends and love.  Starting now.


Wait a minute... I want to celebrate any one that gives with a whole heart.  If you're a mother, a father, a kind & caring person, a person that loves their pets too, that's wonderful in my book!

So, for this weekend, I'm giving away the Premiere Issue of Fifi O'Neill's new magazine called Romantic Prairie Style Magazine and a one-year's subscription to the magazine.

 

We're off to enjoy our weekend and share special times together.  I hope you'll pull someone close, whisper (or shout) you care and enjoy each moment this weekend.

White Lilacs & Vintage Tufted Sofa

Our Maison is glowing these days with shades of creams, white and as always, natural colors from sweet nature's inspiration.

An old jar brought back from travels in Italy (Truffle mayonnaise) filled w/white lilacs

I was able to find the vintage tufted sofa of my dreams a couple of months ago and finally have the opportunity to show you now.  Of course, because our little front room will be changing in the next couple of months for summer dreaming.

I just love it and its old style & charm.  The best thing, it's in perfect condition.

We have a large white lilac tree in front of the house and every year, I can't help but cutting a few to bring inside for their heavenly smell and great beauty.  

I've purchased a couple beautiful white & cream rugs to layer & can't wait to add them here
